Essential Duties:

\n
• Sets up required machine with necessary tooling and fixtures.
\n
• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece.
\n
• Runs OD Grind job according to set-up sheet and quality procedure.
\n
• Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on the specified machine.
\n
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls as required.
\n
• Inspects machined part and verifies conformance of finished part to specifications. Completes necessary paperwork for completed part.
\n
• Makes various tooling and fixtures when required.
\n
• Performs machine and wheel maintenance when necessary.
\n
• Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
\n
• Willing and able to be cross trained on different controls and multiple machines when required.
\n

Skills:

\n
• Computer – ability to learn and work with Visual software, Manufacturing software, Database software and Word processing.
\n
• Communication – good command of the English language with clear and easily understood diction. Ability to read and interpret documents; ability to write reports, letters, emails and faxes; ability to speak effectively in “one on one” and group situations; ability to communicate and work well with others in a team environment.
\n
• Reasoning – ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; ability to prioritize, multi-task and problem solve.
\n

Education and Experience:

\n
• Requires a High School diploma or GED.
\n
• Previous machining experience required, job shop experience and/or training required.
\n
• Mathematical Skills including ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, are, circumference and volume. Machine shop math ability.
\n

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is frequently required to walk up and down stairways. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and the noise level in the work environment is moderate and occasionally loud.
